Chanel - the crème de la crème




"It's more about the mood of the times, not something you have to translate," said the designer after the show. "It's all about the wind, it's in the air," he gestured of the set and referring to the overall ease, breeze and serenity of the collection which, still Chanel through and through, didn't draw on one chain or camelia. "I removed everything," he said - except for the pearls.

While other houses are having a new lease of life breathed into them with new creative directors (Raf at Dior, Hedi at Saint Laurent, Jil back at Sander), Lagerfeld showed that Chanel doesn't need that - Chanel is still the crème de la crème of the brands.
